‘Parking Buddies’ improve road safety outside Barrs Court School

In response to a plea for help from Barrs Court Primary School concerning problems with parents blocking neighbouring driveways at drop-off and pick-up times, Oldland Parish Council has purchased some ‘Parking Buddies’ signs.

The four signs are being put in Stephens Drive at the start and end of the school day to discourage motorists from parking on the pavement. They are personalised with the school’s logo and advise motorists ‘No stopping here’ and ‘Keep clear’.

The parish council used Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding to pay for the signs. CIL is a charge levied by local authorities on new development in their area and can be used to fund a wide range of community facilities.

Headteacher Daniel Webster thanked the parish council for their support and said the children love their new buddies.
